Well this Tuesday was the 17 week mark in my pregnancy!
I can't believe that in 3 short weeks we will be halfway done, and by we I mean mostly me.
Though I have spent almost the entire past 4 months hugging a toilet or munching on something citrus flavored so I wouldn't be hugging said toilet, I am so thankful that this little one is safe and sound and growing away.
The first few weeks were rough and one night was especially hard.
I had been throwing up for 11 hours straight and Brandon was out of town.
I got really scared something was wrong so finally at midnight I called my doctor
( who sounded WIDE awake...sorry Doc.)
She advised me to get to an ER right away for some fluids and some meds.
I barely made it to the bathroom before I was sick again and lying on the floor.
I texted my friend Phyllis who I knew would be awake at that hour. This was the conversation:
Me: Are you awake?
Phyllis: Yes, what's wrong?
Me: I need to go to the ER
Phyllis: I am leaving now, be there in 10
There was no questions asked. She picked me up drove me to the hospital and was by my side as I was terrified at every stage. She kept my anxious and scared husband in the loop and calmed his nerves. I truly saw friendship that night and I am so thankful for Phyllis.
So was my husband.
So was my mommy.
We were there until 6 am and Phyllis never left my side.

Things started getting better from there seeing as how they gave me magic medicine that takes all the barf feeling away.
Friends started showering us with tiny gifts that make my heart melt.

I have started to "show" a little bit at a time
This was a little before 13 weeks. Looks like I had too much chipotle.

So here we are at 17 weeks.
I rarely get sick and I am able to make it through the day without a nap again!
Thanksgiving day was the first time I felt the babe move!
I thought I had just eaten too much food but the squirming kept happening, mostly after I would laugh. It was so crazy feeling! I can't wait to feel it get bigger and stronger.
So there you have it!
Praise God. Here's to a safe and healthy second half :D
