We decided to pack up and follow Brandon on another work trip.
This time to Cincinnati.
Since I learned that Nick and Drew Lachey live in Cincinnati, I have been dying to visit.
You read that right.
There's also an Ikea so you didn't have to ask me twice.
It's only about a 2 hour drive from our house so we packed up at naptime and I crossed my fingers E would sleep the whole way.
Dream on Mama. He slept for 40 minutes.
Ethans in this stage right now where he repeats the same word or sentence until you repeat it back to him, while looking at him and shaking your head in agreement.
If you don't do this, he will repeat himself, up to 24 times I learned.
Yep, I let him go go go until he gave up.
This made for a lot of chatting about the trucks, the road, his snacks, my hair, his hair, his toes, his boogers, my boogers, Papa, Mimi, and on and on.
It's so cute that he wants to talk all the time right now, it's just work you know?
Yes buddy, big truck!
Yes buddy, sheep!
Yes buddy, fruit snacks in your belly!
Ok ok it's adorable.
Onto Cincinnati. We made it just before dinner time so we met Brandon at his hotel and he took us out on the town!
We ate at Crave, which was a favorite of mine in Minneapolis. Although they didn't have either of the items I had been craving ( see what I did there?) so really it was just a good dinner at a good place.
It's right across from where the Cincinnati Reds play and Ethan kept pointing at all the people and the stadium saying play baseball!!
We decided spur of the moment to buy some tickets and enjoy the game. It was such a gorgeous night!
It was Ethan's first baseball game, and although the Angels Fan in me was
----d y i n g ----
watching him go nuts over all this Reds stuff, it was super cute to see him all pumped up.
We grabbed some Dippin dots, and headed to our seats.
E lasted 2.5 innings before losing it. To be fair, he hadn't had a proper nap and it was past his bedtime.
So we left.
We walked the river side for a while letting Ethan get soaking in the splash pad and swing on the giant swings.
The next day E and I hit up the aquarium.
Lets talk about me being at an aquarium for a second.
I hate them. Loathe them.
They always stink, are over crowded and I constantly feel like all the glass is going to explode free willy style and all those crazy sea creatures will suddenly be all around me. I'm sweating just thinking about it.
So when I decided to take E, I shocked even myself. But I heard it was so awesome and I knew he would love it.
The things we Moms do.
So we get to the aquarium, Ethan is in the worst mood ever. E V E R.
He whines as we park.
As we walk in.
As we buy tickets.
As we walk in.
Then we're in. He's doing pretty good now. So I let him out of the stroller so he can explore.
Rookie mistake.
He takes off, towards the shark tunnel.
I sweat.
I panic.
I almost pass out- for real.
I catch up to him and grab his hand, he collapsed onto the ground.
Repeat this for an hour and a half and you have our aquarium experience.
Naturally we had to go back to the hotel for naps. Both of us.
After naps we tried an outdoor market where I shouldn't have even gotten out of my car. So sketchy. Then we tried an Art museum. So boring. Ethan stayed by this car the whole time.
Then threw a fit by this painting.
I cried uncle and we headed back to the hotel for cartoons and a snack. He was uber happy.
Dinner followed, along with some fro yo so basically I was uber happy.
The next day I woke up like it was Christmas. It was Ikea day.
We got there half hour before opening.
When we finally got in, I took E to play in the toy area to get his wiggles out.
He climbs up a tiny slide, slips, hits his lip, busts it open.
He's screaming and there is blood all over ( lips bleed like no ones business)
Needless to say, Ikea wasn't like I pictured.
We went home.
All in all, Cincinatti was ok. The Lachey brothers should move to Columbus- it's way cooler here.
